About Mymensingh RC
Mymensingh Regional Center (RC) of Bangladesh Open University (BOU) is the second largest RC among twclve RC’s. BOU Started its journey in the city of Mymensingh in 1994. Now, the RC renders the service from its own building situated at Mashkanda, Mymensingh and that was established on 1.95 acres land in 1999.
There are six Sub-Regional Centers (SRC), located in Netrokona, Kishoregonj, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Tangail & Madhupur working under the supervision of Mymensingh RC. At present the RC and its adjoining SRCs are providing education to about fifty thousand students through fifteen programs, running in 192 study centers where 2598 tutors(approx.) instruct the learners dircctly and devotedly. The ongoing programs of Mymensingh RC and its SRCs are SSC, HSC, HSC(Niche-1), BBA, BBA (Bangla), MBA(Bangla), BA/BSS, MA/MSS, B.Ed, M.Ed, B.M.Ed, B.Ag.Ed, CLP, DCSA & MPH.
Mission
To provide access to education to large segments of the poputation, and in particular the disadvantaged groups such as those living in remote and rural areas including working people, housewives and other adults who wish to upgrade or acquire knowledge through studies in various fields.
To advance and disseminate learning and knowledge through diversified means including the use of Information and Communication Technology.
To provide counselling and guidance to the learners.
To be open to people, places, methods and ideas.

In order to play role in making “Smart Bangladesh”, Mymensingh Regional Center strives to ensure smart and quality education for all in its concerned areas through open and distance learning system..
Responsibilities
When the admission notice is published, mass publicity is done to get the desired number of students admitted.
Completing the admission process by verifying the required documents.
Distribution of ID cards among students.
Send study center change application.
Send tutor proposal.
Timely dispatch of coordinator recruitment proposals.
Exam center proposal, question paper demand sent to examination department.
Recommendation for amendment of certificate and issue of duplicate ID card.
Distribution of mark sheets, certificates and testimonials.
Taking charge of the financial affairs of the Sub-Regional Centre.
Providing timely information and performing other tasks as per the instructions of the authority.
